Skin Tightening -HIFU stands for high-intensity focused ultrasound. It is arguably the most advanced and effective non-surgical technology for lifting and tightening the face and body, and the treatment is now available at our Posh clinic in Celbridge.

WHAT IS ULTRAFORMER HIFU?

ultrasound energy targets the lower layers of the dermis, generating low levels of heat. This spurs collagen production and rejuvenation of the targeted tissue. After just one treatment, results are noticeable.

IS HIFU PAINFUL?

Body contouring with HIFU is a non-invasive treatment with no downtime needed. 
 Straight after you can feel hot an uncomfortable in treated area. You may experience slight redness and tenderness for up to 2-3 days.

PRE HIFU SKIN TREATMENT INSTRUCTIOONS

Week before treatment:

1. Avoid botox/filler 2 weeks in or near treatment areas before treatment.
2. Avoid any facial treatments 2 weeks before treatment.
3. Avoid any vaccines 2 weeks before/after treatment.
4. Avoid having any laser treatments on the area 2 weeks before treatment.
5. HIFU is not suitable for those who are pregnant or breastfeeding
6. Avoid sun exposure and sunless tanning. 
7. Sun burned or tanned skin will not be treated.
8. All skin irritants must be stopped (glycolic/ salicylic acids, benzoyl peroxide, retinol products such as Retin A, Tazorac, Triluma, Differin, and Vitamin C) on the area being treated.
9. Advise staff when taking antibiotics. Certain antibiotics (Tetracycline, Doxycycline) can make a patient photosensitive, therefore, treatment may not be able to done until two weeks after completion of antibiotic.

Day before treatment:

Please let the staff know if you have a history of cold sores/fever blisters PRIOR to treatment, so an anti- viral medication can be prescribed. Treatment can not be done if you have an active cold sore or skin infection and will be rescheduled.

Day of Treatment:

1. If this is your first treatment, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your treatment to take photos and make  sure consents are signed.
2. Do not wear any make-up or moisturizers on the area being treated, however, we have cleaners that can be used for you to remove in the salon.

POST HIFU TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

1. The treated area may be flushed, red and feel tingly         
2. It is normal for the area treated to have redness and swelling.     
3. It is normal for the area to feel warm immediately after the procedure.   
4. It is uncommon for a blister or bruise to develop. Should you develop a blister, a topical antibiotic ointment such as polysporin can be used twice daily until healed.
5. An ice pack should be avoided to maximize treatment results. Pain medication post treatment is not necessary.
6. Makeup can be applied immediately post treatment.
7. Waxing, tweezing, and depilatory creams can be resumed 3 days post treatment.
8. Avoid hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms and exercise post treatment. However, all other normal activity can be resumed.
9. A non-exfoliant cleaner and light moisturizer can be used the day of treatment. You can resume normal skin care the next day.
10. All skin irritants (glycolic/ salicylic acids, benzoyl peroxide, retinol products, or vitamin C) can be resumed 3 days post treatment.
11. An SPF 30 or higher with Zinc Oxide will be applied immediately post treatment. Please continue apply sunblock daily to maximize your results and minimize irritation.
12. Botox, Dysport, chemical peels, and dermal fillers can be resumed 2 weeks post your treatment.
13. A post procedure skin care regimen will be suggested by our staff to maximize and prolong your treatments and minimize complication.
14. Vitamin C supplementation Indicated for the stimulation of collagen production and for the immune system in the fight against controlled inflammation
